The image of polygon MNOP after a similarity transformation is polygon WXYZ. Each side of MNOP is 2 times as long as the corresponding side of WXYZ. What is the scale factor of the dilation in the similarity transformation?

Step 1
Scale factor is the ratio of the side length of the new figure to the legth of sides of old figure.
Step 2
MNOP is the old figure and WXYZ is the new figure.
Each side of MNOP is 2 times as long as the corresponding side of WXYZ
So, WX : MN= 1:2
So scale factor = WX/MN= 1/2
Answer: 1/2
